NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 8, 2014) – Cumberland Consulting Group, a national technology implementation and project management firm, announced the addition of industry veteran Amy VanDeCar as senior principal to its fast-growing Life Sciences practice.

VanDeCar brings more than 12 years of diverse experience in the life sciences industry, including government programs, commercialization, professional services, system implementation and program management. VanDeCar will be responsible for managing multiple client engagements and will help lead the firm’s government programs consulting group.

“Amy has a strong commercial and government operations background and brings a specialized knowledge in complex government contracting programs, including the 340B public health service programs,” said Sean Downey, partner at Cumberland Consulting. “We are excited to welcome Amy to the Life Sciences practice team at Cumberland and know she will be an asset to our growing firm.”

Prior to joining Cumberland, VanDeCar was vice president of government programs consulting for Compliance Implementation Services (CIS) where she oversaw strategic initiatives for the firm while managing several key clients. Before her time at CIS, VanDeCar was a senior business analyst for I-Many, Inc., now Revitas, and a senior contracting specialist at Talecris Biotherapeutics, Inc., now Grifols. She began her career at Bertek Pharmaceuticals, now Mylan Laboratories, Inc.

A frequent speaker and presenter at industry conferences, VanDeCar is a subject matter expert on government programs, healthcare reform, compliance audits, statutory pricing calculations, chargebacks and rebates.

A resident of Apex, N.C., VanDeCar holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in justice from American University.
