The tools and techniques of Project Management reduce risk and provide structure to otherwise unstructured and unpredictable activities. But, we know that Project Management involves much more; it must also address the communication and people aspects of project execution. These real-world human factors of project execution are often the source of delays, cost overruns, or project failure.

We Are "Content Rich" Project Managers.

We don’t believe that a project manager can be effective by focusing only on the administrative aspects of the job. To manage the work, a project manager must have an in-depth understanding of the subject matter and the objectives to be achieved. Cumberland Project Managers participate; they don’t just observe and keep score.

PMP Certification

The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an important part of Cumberland’s commitment to outstanding Project Management.

The certification has rigorous training, experience and examination requirements. Continuous training is required to maintain the credential.

All CCG Principals and Partners are PMP certified and the remainder of our team is certified or pursuing certification.

The Project Management Institute (PMI)

Cumberland Consulting Group and Cumberland’s entire consulting staff are members of the Project Management Institute (PMI). PMI is the leading membership association for the project management profession.

PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is our standard and the basis for project management within our methods.
